Farm in Meyersdale, PA

A new project for one Tiny House Container Airbnb.

Overview

Location

The farm is located near Meyersdale, PA which is close to Cumberland, MD. The farm in a small “bowl-like” valley, that sits on top of a mountain. It is a less than 3 hour drive from DC and a less than 2 hour drive from Pittsburgh, PA. Due to its altitude, the summers are mild and in the winter, the farm receive a good amount of snow.

There is a bike trail nearby that goes from Washington DC to Pittsburgh, PA.

The area is a perfect summer vacation getaway. There are many agricultural events in the area that start in spring and go into fall.

Setup

There are two locations: The first is a Spring fed pond with a space for a Tiny House Container. The space is currently occupied by a Fifth Wheel. The farm property continues up and over the ridgeline. On top of the ridge line are several wind mills. The ridgeline offers a fantastic view in all directions but especially to the West.

The second location offers several spots on the Westside of the ridgeline with million dollar view.

Occupancy

Mainly a summer destination, it could serve as a week long vacation destination rather than a weekend destination. In spring and fall the weekends could be busy due to local events. It’s close proximity to major freeways, 68 and 70, make the farm very accessible.

Conclusion

During the first season, we anticipate a below average occupancy and a lower nightly rate as we continue to improve the setup. However, for the second season, we expect to reach our goal.
